Help

A small character that floats on top of every window and holds your to-do list. Click it and the list opens beside it. Type "call Sam 2pm" and it schedules itself; it reminds you 15, 10 and 5 minutes ahead, walks over when something is close, rolls the day over at 4 AM, and (if you want) follows you off the desk through your phone, Telegram and a Pavlok wristband.

Windows 10 and 11, and macOS 11 or later. A phone app for iPhone and Android, on the same account and list, is coming soon. See Your phone.

No. Petodo works fully without one; your list stays on your computer. An account only matters for a second device, the phone app, or Petodo Pro. Signing in takes a minute and there is no password: you approve a short code in your browser.

A short welcome tour: meet your pet, pick a character, add your first task, see how reminders work, and (optionally) sign in and set up your phone, Telegram or a Pavlok. Everything you change in the tour is saved as you go, so closing it early loses nothing. You can replay it any time from Settings → Help.

Click the pet. Click it again, press Escape, or click anywhere else to close it. The Petodo icon in the system tray (near the clock) also opens the list.

Show or hide the pet, open the list, Ghost mode, Mute sounds, End the day, Settings, the welcome tour, Check for updates (or Restart to update when one is ready), and Quit.

The pet and the list are only ever hidden. To quit, use the tray icon → Quit Petodo.

Settings → General → Launch at startup. It is off by default. The operating system's own startup setting is the source of truth, so if you turn it off there, Petodo notices.

Show / hide the pet from anywhere: Ctrl+Shift+Space by default. Change it in Settings → Shortcut & sound (it needs a modifier key; Backspace clears it). In the list: Enter adds, Escape clears the box or closes the list, Ctrl+, opens Settings, double-click a task to edit it.

Settings → Help → Replay the intro, or the tray menu → Welcome tour.

Drag it. A short click opens the list; anything longer is a drag. It stays inside the screen and remembers where you left it.

Settings → Pet → Character. There are 20. Free: Hermes, Cat, Corgi, Capybara, Axolotl, Penguin, Retro Bot and Teddy Bear. With Pro, the packs: Mythic: Dragon and Unicorn; Woodland: Fox, Owl, Red Panda, Bunny, Raccoon and Hedgehog; Pond: Frog and Duck; Ocean: Octopus; Space: Alien. They all behave the same.

Settings → Pet → Size, from 75% to 160%. It resizes in place.

That is the point: it is always in view, and it is kept out of Alt-Tab. If something manages to push it behind, it comes back to the front within about fifteen seconds.

Settings → Pet → Hide in fullscreen apps (on by default) hides it while a fullscreen window is in front, and brings it back after. Maximised windows do not count as fullscreen. On a Mac this needs the Accessibility permission (see the Mac question).

Clicks pass straight through the pet, so it never blocks what is under it. Turn it on in Settings → Pet or from the tray menu. The way back is the tray icon or your show / hide shortcut, and Petodo tells you so when you switch it on.

Settings → Pet → Sleep when you're away: after five idle minutes by default (1–180). It wakes when you touch the mouse or keyboard. Playing music counts as company, so it stays up while a track is on.

Settings → Pet → Dance when music plays (on by default) watches the volume level of your speakers: a single loudness number, never the audio itself. It starts after a couple of seconds of sustained sound and stops a few seconds after quiet, so a chime does not set it off.

That is the heads-up. About ten minutes before something with a time on it is due, the pet walks to wherever your pointer is, waves, says what is coming, and walks home. It happens once per task. Settings → Pet → Walk over with a heads-up turns it off.

It only walks for a task with a time on it, at the reminder that lands between five and twelve minutes before it is due (the 10-minute one by default). It needs Walk over with a heads-up switched on, the pet visible, and it will not interrupt a walk-over already in progress. If you removed the 10-minute reminder from Settings → Reminders, there is nothing for it to walk on.

The focus timer. Start it from the clock icon at the top of your list; the ring fills as the round runs and the pet tells you when the round or the break is over. Settings → Focus timer sets the lengths (25 / 5 / 15 minutes by default, four rounds before a long break).

It celebrates when you finish a task, when the day rolls over, when an update has installed, and when an assistant changes your list. Clearing the last open task on today's list earns a dance.

Settings → Shortcut & sound → Mute all sounds, or the tray menu → Mute sounds. Reminder and timer sounds have their own switches too. System notifications are always silent.

Settings → General → Theme: System (the default), Light or Dark.

Type in the box at the top of the list and press Enter. The box stays put so you can keep typing. A chip under the box shows any time it found before you commit.

Yes, each line becomes a task. Bullets and "1." numbering are stripped.

2pm, 2 PM, 14:30, 2:30pm, at 9:15, a bare at 2, in 30 min, in 2 hours, in an hour, in half an hour, today, tomorrow (also tmr, tmrw), and tonight (8 PM unless you give a time). The time words are removed from the title, so "call Sam 2pm" becomes "call Sam" at 2:00 PM.

Yes, in any of the eleven languages the app speaks, whichever one it is set to, and mixed if you like. A few examples: dans 4 minutes, à 16h, demain à 9h, ce soir; en 20 minutos, mañana a las 4 de la tarde; amanhã às 16h; tra mezz'ora, domani alle 9; in einer Stunde, morgen um 16 Uhr; over een kwartier, om 4 uur 's middags; 明日の午後4時, 5分後; 내일 오후 4시, 30분 후; 明天下午四点, 半小时后; कल शाम 4 बजे, 10 मिनट में. Repeats work too: tous les lundis, todos los días, jede Woche, 毎日, 매주 화요일, 每周三, हर दिन.

Yes, whenever something says it is a time: at 1600, à 1600, demain 1600, 1600h. Four digits are the 24-hour clock, so 0930 is the morning. On its own, as in "pay rent 1500", the number stays in the title, because it is as likely a price or a year. In the phone's time box, where only a time can go, 1600 or even 16 is enough.

It takes the earliest reading still ahead of now. If both readings have passed, it goes to tomorrow, and leans on what is plausible: 1–7 means afternoon or evening, 8–12 means morning. "tonight at 9" is 9 PM. A part of the day settles it: "a las 4 de la tarde", "8 du soir", "午後4時". In a repeat, "every day at 8" is the morning.

A bare number only counts as a time after "at", and only at the end of the text or before a joining word. "look at 2 files" stays unscheduled. That is on purpose: a wrong time is worse than no time.

A time that has already passed today means the next one. Say "today at 9am" if you really mean this morning.

Puts the task in the Tomorrow section, with no reminders. It moves up to Today when the day turns.

Double-click the task (or click its time chip) and edit the words, and the time is read again. The × on the chip removes the time. The arrow moves a task between Today and Tomorrow; the bin deletes it, with no confirmation.

Drag them within Today or Tomorrow. Anything due within the next hour floats to the top on its own, soonest first, without changing your order underneath.

The tabs across the top of the panel ("My Day" to begin with). The + makes a new one and lets you name it; double-click a tab to rename it; right-click a tab, then click again, to delete it (that deletes its tasks too). The last list cannot be deleted.

Into a Completed section for the day. When the day rolls over, or when you End the day, they are filed into the archive, which keeps thirty days.

Yes. On the computer, drag a file onto the task, or hover it and click the paperclip. On the phone, open the task and tap Attach a file or Attach a photo. A paperclip with a count shows on the task; click it to see the files. From there, on the computer: click a name to open it, copy it (then paste it straight into an email, a chat or a folder, and the file itself goes in), drag it out of the panel into an email, or show it in its folder. On the phone, tap a file to send it by email or message, or to save it.

They stay on the device you attached them on, as copies: moving or deleting the original does not affect them. They are not uploaded and do not appear on your other devices. When the task is deleted, or filed away when the day ends, its files are removed with it.

A per-task choice of how it nags you once it is late: Buzz, Beep or Zap and a strength, or "Use my usual". It only does anything with Nagging on and a Pavlok connected (both Pro). A zap is capped at 60 whatever a task asks for.

Settings → Reminders → Remind me before: 15, 10 and 5 minutes before by default, plus one at the due time. Add any number of minutes you like. Tasks without a time get no reminders.

A speech bubble on the pet with Done and Snooze (it fades after a few seconds unless you hover it), a system notification (click it to open the list), and a chime. Each of the three can be switched off in Settings → Reminders.

Keep a countdown on screen (on by default) pins the bubble from five minutes before until you press Done or Snooze, ticking every second. Settings → Reminders → Countdown starts at changes the five. Click the words to jump to the task.

It quietens the remaining reminders and comes back once when the snooze is up: five minutes by default (Settings → Reminders → Snooze length). If server nagging is on, snoozing also moves the task's due time so the nagging waits too.

Yes, exactly as ticking it in the list would. It counts toward your streak.

After sleep, or when the app was closed, only the most imminent missed reminder is shown; the rest are skipped rather than stacked. A reminder that has fired is remembered, so restarting never repeats one. Past thirty minutes late it reads "Was due at …".

Gentle nudges (on by default): every twenty to forty minutes, silently, it mentions a task without a time that has been sitting for a while. Never just after launch, never over a countdown or a walk-over. Settings → Reminders → Gentle nudges.

Yes. Reminders cover every list; only nudges stick to the list you have open.

Say it: "every day at 8:30", "every weekday", "every mon, wed and fri at 6pm", "every other day", "every 3 days", "every two weeks", or "daily" / "weekly" at the start or end. ("read the daily news" is not a repeat.)

"for the next three weeks", "for 10 days", "for 2 months", "5 times", "until March 20", "until friday". Without an end it repeats forever.

Under Repeating in your list, with a chip like "Every weekday at 6:00 PM until Sep 28". The rule has no tick box. Click its bin twice to stop it. That removes the days still to come and keeps the ones you finished.

Each day's copy appears when that day begins. Ticking today's copy finishes today, not the habit. Missed days are not backfilled: a week away does not come back to seven copies.

If you are signed in, yes: the server creates each day's copy on its own clock, and your devices merge it in.

No. "water the plants every day" comes back every day but never reminds. Give it a time and it will.

At 4 AM by default. Change it in Settings → General → New day starts at (midnight to 6 AM). A task added at 1 AM still belongs to the day you are up in.

Completed tasks are filed away, Tomorrow's tasks move to the top of Today, repeating tasks get their day, a backup of your list is written, and the pet celebrates.

It shows what you finished and what is left, then you choose: Move remaining to tomorrow (their times shift by a day, so nothing fires as overdue the moment you carry it) or Wipe remaining (press it twice; it cannot be undone). Completed tasks are filed either way.

Finish at least one task on a day and the streak grows; a day with none resets it. It is shown as 🔥 in the panel footer. If you use more than one device, the streak is worked out from the set of days, so two devices cannot double-count.

Settings → Account & sync → Sign in. Your browser opens with an 8-character code; sign in there with email (a link that works once), Google, GitHub or Apple, check the code matches the one in the app, and press Connect it. The app picks it up within a few seconds. The code expires after fifteen minutes.

No. Your list is sent up and merged with what the account has; nothing overwrites anything.

A couple of seconds after any change, plus a check every few minutes (more often while something is late and nagging is on). Settings → Account & sync shows when it last synced.

Free: two, and the phone counts as one. A third is refused with a message saying so. Pro: as many as you like.

Settings → Account & sync → Devices and keys opens your account page. Removing a device signs it out immediately; its copy of the list stays on that machine.

It tells the server to stop accepting this computer and clears the sign-in here. Your local list stays and stops syncing.

The phone app is coming soon (leave your email to hear the day it is out). Once it is on your phone: open Settings in it and press Sign in. It opens the same connect page: approve the code, then tap Open Petodo. The phone counts as one of your two free devices.

Yes: notifications with Done and Push back 10 min right on them, ten minutes before and at the time by default (choose from On time, 5, 10, 15, 30 and 60 in the phone's Settings). It asks for permission the first time you add a task with a time. A reminder at the due time comes through Focus modes, and it stays in Notification Center until the task is done; finish it anywhere and it disappears. With Pro and Keep reminding me until it's done switched on, the phone keeps reminding you every few minutes on its own, even with no signal, until you tick it off.

Check notifications are allowed for Petodo and Remind me on this phone is on. iPhones hold a limited number of scheduled notifications (64), so Petodo keeps the soonest 60. With a very long list, far-off ones wait until they are nearer. Reminders for tasks added on another device only reach the phone once it has opened and synced, unless you have Pro nagging on, which reaches the phone from the server.

Add tasks the same way, tap one to edit its title or time, push it back, move it to tomorrow, tick it off, delete it, End the day, choose your character (the same twenty as the desktop, with the Pro ones for Pro), pick your language, and set when the day starts. Tap the pet and it tells you what is next, and it tells you when an assistant or Notion, email or your calendar adds something. Telegram and Pavlok are set up in the desktop app.

So every device and the server agree. A snooze that lived only on the phone would be contradicted by the desktop and by nagging.

Reminders in chat that keep coming until you tap Done (with Pro nagging), and a way to add, list and finish tasks by messaging your own bot from anywhere.

Settings → Telegram → Set up (or the welcome tour). Three steps: open @BotFather in Telegram, send /newbot, a name, and a username ending in "bot"; paste the token BotFather gives you (it looks like 123456789:AA…); then open the link or scan the code with your phone and press Start. That last step tells the bot which chat is yours.

Copy the whole thing from BotFather's message, including the part before the colon. Telegram has to accept it too, so a token you have since revoked in BotFather will be refused. You can try ten times an hour.

/list, /add call Sam 2pm, /done call Sam, /report and /help. Any plain message is treated as /add. It only ever answers the chat you linked.

✓ Done, and Push back 5 min / 10 min / 1 hour. Pushing back moves the task's time. Each new reminder replaces the last, as a fresh message so your phone still buzzes.

Settings → Telegram → Tidy up messages after: a day by default; an hour, six hours, two days, or Keep them. It only deletes its own messages, never yours. Two days is the longest Telegram lets a bot reach back.

Settings → Telegram: Link a different chat gives you a fresh link; Send a test message sends one; Disconnect removes the bot from Petodo (the bot itself stays yours in BotFather).

A task titled "@HermesBot file the expenses 5pm" is handed to that bot in Telegram the moment it comes due, and you are told it went, so an errand is something your assistant does, not something you remember to ask it. The computer sends it the second the time arrives; if no computer is running, the server sends it within the minute, nagging on or off, quiet hours or not. Settings → Agent bots → Send it now tries one straight away.

Every errand carries a short reference (like #3f9a1c) and a line telling the agent how to answer. The agent replies to the errand message starting with one word: confirmed as soon as it has it, started when it begins, working: plus what it is doing, done: plus the result, or failed: plus why. An agent can also send the same words as a command to your Petodo bot (/done@YourPetodoBot #3f9a1c the result), and one that simply answers in its own words is taken as having received it. Petodo reads all of these: the task shows a chip that moves from Sent to Confirmed, Started, Working and Done, the pet tells you each time, and your Telegram chat gets a line too. When the agent says done, the task is ticked off for you. An agent that needs another agent replies ask @OtherBot: what it needs, and Petodo hands that over on the same task; agents can also just mention each other in the group. Petodo posts these rules in the errand group when it joins, whenever a new bot joins, and on /rules, so any agent that reads its chat knows what to say.

If agents never answer: Telegram only passes one bot's message to another bot when Bot-to-Bot Communication is switched on in @BotFather (/mybots → the bot → Bot Settings) for at least one of the two. Switch it on for your Petodo bot so errands reach your agents and their answers reach Petodo, and for each agent that should hear the others. An agent built to answer only you in a private chat also has to be taught to take errands in the group.

You don't need to know them. Type @ at the start of a task, on the computer or the phone, and Petodo lists the bots you use; each letter you type narrows the list, and choosing one fills in its exact name. To fill the list: choose Find my bots in Telegram (the last row of that list, or Settings → Agent bots → Find my bots), or send /bots to your Petodo bot. Then, in Telegram: (1) tap the Choose my bots button that appears just under the message box (if it is hidden, tap the small keyboard icon next to the box); (2) tick the bots you use, up to ten at a time; (3) tap the tick to send them. They show up in Petodo within seconds. Bots added to your errand group, and any bot you have already used in a task, are listed too. Settings → Agent bots → Your bots lets you remove one or add one by name.

Telegram only lets one bot message another when both bots have Bot-to-Bot Communication switched on in BotFather, and you cannot switch it on for somebody else's bot. So this is normal, and there is a route that always works: put both bots in a group. In Petodo, Settings → Agent bots → Choose group… opens Telegram ready to add your bot to a group (pick one or make one), then add the other bot to the same group. Petodo notices, says "I will hand errands to other bots here", and uses that group from then on. Nothing else to configure.

Only if you own both bots. In Telegram open @BotFather → /mybots → your bot → Bot Settings → Bot-to-Bot Communication and turn it on, then do the same for the other bot. If the other bot belongs to someone else, they have to do it, which is why Petodo falls back to the group.

It uses the group you added the bot to. If you are in several and want a specific one, Settings → Agent bots → Shared group takes a chat id (a number like -1001234567890). Leave it empty and the detected group is used, and Settings shows which one that is.

Three usual reasons: the link was never opened (open it and press Start), you are messaging from a different chat than the one linked, or Pro has ended (the bot tells you once a day if so). If the bot was changed in BotFather, set it up again. If it is errands to other bots that stopped, see the bot-to-bot answer.

Settings → Connections, which also holds Telegram and Pavlok. All three are part of Pro, which is free while Petodo is new. Once Pro is on sale, connecting any of them starts the free 14-day trial if you have not used it.

Settings → Connections → Email → Create address… gives you a private address that looks like [email protected], and copies it. Forward or BCC any email to it and the subject becomes a task, usually within a few seconds. Save the address as a contact called Petodo and forwarding is two taps on a phone.

All of them. Petodo never connects to your mailbox and never reads it. You send a message on, the same as forwarding to a colleague, so Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Proton, Yahoo and a work address all work the same way, with nothing to authorise.

The subject, with Re: and Fwd: stripped off. Times in it are read as usual, so forwarding something titled "Fwd: call Sam friday 3pm" gives you a task at 3 PM on Friday. A message with no subject uses its first line.

Anyone you give it to. It is a secret address, not a password-protected one, which is what makes it work from any mailbox. It is sixteen random characters, so it will not be guessed; if it ever leaks, New address makes a fresh one and the old one stops working immediately. There is a cap of 60 forwarded messages a day, so a mail loop cannot fill your list.

Coming soon. Notion is not switched on yet; Settings will say so until it is. When it is: You pick one Notion database. Anything in it that is not ticked off appears on your Petodo list with its date; renaming or redating it in Notion updates the task; and ticking it off in either place ticks it off in the other. Petodo checks every five minutes, and never deletes anything in Notion.

Settings → Connections → Notion → Connect… opens Notion in your browser, where you choose which pages Petodo may see. That is Notion's own screen, and it only gets what you tick. Come back and pick the database from the dropdown. Petodo works out which property is the name, which means done (a checkbox, or a status in a "Complete" group) and which holds the date; Settings shows what it chose.

It was not shared with Petodo. Press Reconnect and tick it on Notion's page, or in Notion open the database → ••• → Connections → Petodo. A database also needs a checkbox or status property, so that ticking something off means something.

Yes. Settings → Connections → Calendar takes a calendar address (an .ics link). Everything starting in the next seven days appears on your list at its own time, so the pet reminds you about a meeting the way it does about anything else. If an appointment moves the task moves; if it is cancelled the task goes, unless you have already ticked it off. Nothing is ever written back to the calendar.

Not yet. A repeating event is skipped rather than guessed at, because getting a recurrence rule slightly wrong means being reminded about a meeting that is not happening. One-off appointments, including moved ones, all come through.

Part of Pro. A clock on the server checks every minute. Once a task with a time on it is overdue, you get a message (in Telegram, and on your phone once the phone app is out), then another every few minutes, each one a rung higher (with a Pavlok: buzz, then beep, then zap), until the task is done anywhere or it gives up. Finishing the task is the only way to acknowledge it, which is the point.

Settings → Nagging → Keep reminding me until it is done (on the desktop) or Keep reminding me until it's done in the phone's Settings. Turning it off always works, whatever your plan.

How often: every 10 minutes by default (1 minute to 24 hours). Give up after: 8 hours by default (up to 3 days), after which it says so once. A task that was already older than the give-up window when you switched nagging on is left alone.

No. At most one rung per check, so it always buzzes before it beeps before it zaps, and the first reminder is always just a message. Once at the top rung it repeats on the interval rather than going silent.

A zap needs all of these at once: a Pavlok connected; What it does set to a style that includes zaps; Zaps per task above zero; the task overdue for at least No shocks in the first N minutes (10 by default); the ladder at the zap rung (about half an hour late at the defaults); fewer than the per-task cap (5) sent; fewer than 10 zaps this hour across all tasks; and the strength is capped at 60 no matter what. The Test it and Buzz me buttons never zap, and neither does the three-buzz setup check.

Settings → Pavlok → Set up (or the welcome tour). Put the band on and check it is charged. Open Pavlok's Getting started page, follow it to make an API key, and copy the long key it gives you. Paste it into Petodo; "Bearer" at the front is fine. The server checks it and sends three buzzes so you know the band answers.

Work down the list: the band is charged and on; it is paired to your phone over Bluetooth (the band talks to Pavlok through the phone); the Pavlok app is installed and signed in to the same account; the key was copied whole. Then press Buzz me again.

What it does (Buzz only / Buzz then beep / Buzz, beep, then zap / Zap only), Buzz strength, Beep strength, Zaps per task (Never up to ten), How strong (5–60), and No shocks in the first N minutes. Test it sends a gentle buzz; Remove forgets the key.

The next step for anything overdue, without sending it. There is deliberately no "run it now": the clock is already running.

On the server, sealed with a key the server alone holds. They are never sent back to any app; only the last few characters are shown so you can recognise them.

Signed in, Settings → Account & sync → Set up an assistant → Copy. It makes a key and copies everything the assistant needs. Paste that into the assistant. Keys can also be made on your account page. Assistant access is part of Pro.

Anything except the list. It cannot read your email, make another key, add or remove devices, change Telegram, Pavlok or nagging settings, or touch billing. Remove it from your account page and only that assistant loses access.

No. They land on the server straight away; your devices pick them up on their next sync, and the pet mentions what was added. Times an assistant writes, like "2pm", are read in your own time zone.

Run npx petodo-cli login (Settings → Connect the command line copies that for you), then petodo add "call Sam 2pm", petodo list, petodo done <id>, petodo report. Needs Node 18 or later.

petodo connect claude-code, petodo connect claude-desktop or petodo connect cursor writes the configuration for you; petodo connect --print shows it. The assistant then gets tools to list, add, complete, update and delete tasks and to read your report.

Free, for good: the pet and eight characters, tasks in plain words, reminders, snooze, repeating tasks, walk-overs, and your list on two devices. Pro: handing tasks to your AI agents, your own Telegram bot, assistants working on your list, nagging that follows you off the computer, Pavlok, the other twelve characters, and unlimited devices.

Nothing, for now. While Petodo is new, every account has Pro free, with nothing to pay and nothing to cancel: sign in and it is yours. Accounts made before Pro goes on sale keep it free for a year after. From then it will be $6.99 a month, $49.99 a year, or $129.99 once for good.

Sign in (Settings → Account & sync → Sign in). That is all, while Pro is free. When it goes on sale, Settings → Account & sync → Petodo Pro → Upgrade will open checkout in your browser (no card details ever go through the app), as will the upgrade page.

That is Pro while it is free for everyone: nothing is held back. When Pro goes on sale you will see Free, Pro or a trial there instead.

Your list, sync, reminders and repeating tasks keep working, and devices already signed in stay signed in (a third cannot be added). Nagging stops, the Telegram bot stops taking tasks and tells you once a day, assistant keys stop, and Telegram and Pavlok settings answer "This is part of Petodo Pro". Turning nagging off still works. Nothing is deleted.

As plain JSON on your own computer: data.json and settings.json in Petodo's app data folder (Settings → Help → Data folder opens it). On Windows that is %APPDATA%\Petodo; on a Mac, ~/Library/Application Support/Petodo. A daily backup and the log live there too.

In an attachments folder beside data.json, with attachments.json listing which task each belongs to. They never leave the computer. On the phone they are in the app's own storage.

Only a check for a newer version, which carries no identifier. No analytics, no tracking, no crash reports.

Your email (and name, if the provider gives it), your list, a record of each device and key, and (if you set them up) your sealed Telegram and Pavlok tokens, the linked chat, and a push address for your phone. Payment is handled by the payment provider or the store; we never see your card. The privacy policy has the full list.

Desktop: in settings.json (the installer ships with it empty). Phone: in the phone's keychain, never in a file. Command line: in ~/.petodo/config.json, readable only by you.

Email [email protected] and it is removed, with no waiting period. Removing devices and keys from your account page takes effect immediately on its own.

No. It reads a single loudness number a few times a second, and nothing else.

That is SmartScreen, because the Windows build is not code-signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. If you would rather not, that is a fair call.

No. It installs for your user only, with no elevation prompt, and you can choose the folder.

The Mac build is signed and notarized, so it opens like anything else. Accessibility lets the pet see which window is in front. That is what the walk-over and Hide in fullscreen use. Say no and everything else still works. Petodo lives in the menu bar, not the Dock.

Petodo checks quietly (Settings → Updates & about → Check automatically), downloads only what changed, and then shows an Update ready button beside the clock; the tray says Restart to update too. One click restarts into the new version; otherwise it installs the next time you quit.

After an update, the panel shows what changed between the version you had and this one. Settings → Updates & about → What's new shows it again.

If the app cannot restart itself within about twenty seconds it says so. Quit it from the tray and open it again, and the update finishes then.

Windows: Settings → Apps → Petodo → Uninstall. Mac: drag Petodo from Applications to the Trash. Your data folder is left behind on purpose, in case you come back; delete it to remove every trace.

Tray icon → Show pet, or press your show / hide shortcut. Check Ghost mode in the tray menu, and whether a fullscreen app is in front. If it is truly stuck, the app brings it back to the front on its own every fifteen seconds.

Another app already owns that combination, and Settings shows a note saying so. Pick a different one; it needs at least one modifier key.

Check the task has a time chip and is not done or snoozed; the app has to be running (or use the phone or Telegram for when it is not); after sleep only the most imminent missed reminder shows; check the bubble, notification and sound switches, and Mute.

This computer's sign-in was removed, either from your account page or by signing out elsewhere. Sign in again from Settings.

The damaged file is set aside as data.json.corrupt-…, yesterday's backup is used if it can be, and otherwise you start with an empty list. If you are signed in, your list comes back from the account.
